Near the beginning of my writing career, I read the anthology Splatterpunks, edited by Paul M. Sammon. It introduced me to such great writers as Joe R. Lansdale and Clive Barker, and literally changed my writing style overnight.
So when I read that Grey Matter Press wanted to revive that style of writing and honor this landmark anthology with stories that "had no boundries," I jumped right in. I wrote and sent them my story "A Letter To My Ex" for hopeful inclusion in their anthology Splatterlands. Sadly, their first response was that while they loved my story and writing, they couldn't use it for the book. However, they were considering doing a sequel — could they keep the story for possible inclusion in the second volume? Absolutely!
So imagine my surprise and honor when they recently contacted me to say that they wouldn't be doing a sequel, but could they put my story in the original Splatterlands anthology after all? HELL YES, I said!!
And so it is with great pleasure that I'm announcing that my story "A Letter To My Ex" will be a part of the anthology Splatterlands to be published by Grey Matter Press during the summer of 2013.
